Bookham Youth and Community Association NEEDS YOU!
From March 2009, BYCA will be responsible for running and maintaining Bookham Youth and Community Centre (that place on the Lower Road, opposite the Anchor pub.) We need volunteers to help us with all sorts of tasks.
We want to smarten it up – are you good with a paintbrush, a hammer and saw, or a sewing machine? Do you like DIY? – WE NEED YOU
We want everyone to know what goes on there – are you a whizz at managing websites? Magic at marketing? Ace at advertising? – WE NEED YOU
We want to see the Centre used by many groups and individuals – are you a phone answerer? Can you cope with keys? Help us manage our lettings? - WE NEED YOU
We want to maintain the Centre in the best way possible – are you good at DIY? – WE NEED YOU
We need to attract funding for projects with young people – are you super at selling great ideas and plans? Good at talking to people and stirring up enthusiasm? – WE NEED YOU
We want to develop a range of activities for young people – do you get on well with young people? Have you got a skill to share and teach? Like sports? - WE NEED YOU
Are you a local business that wants to invest in your community? – WE NEED YOU (AT THE MOMENT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IT EQUIPMENT, FOR EXAMPLE).
If you can’t spare time or skills, we would be pleased to receive a donation. Tax payers can covenant their gift, which increases the amount we receive because we are a charity. We are budgeting for running costs in the region of £20,000 in the coming year. We hope to cover most of that with lettings income, but to improve the facilities for community use and develop our projects for young people we need to add to that from fundraising.
